Project Background and Overview
This project is located in a renowned placer gold mining area in Mozambique, Africa, and is one of the largest mineral resource development projects in the region. The mining area features complex geological conditions, with ore layers characterized by extremely high clay content and abundant gravel. Clay minerals readily coat gold particles, making it difficult to effectively separate valuable minerals from gangue. Prior to introducing YaKai equipment, the client relied on conventional beneficiation equipment, which not only suffered from low processing efficiency and failed to meet the production capacity requirements of large-scale mining, but also exhibited significant fluctuations and poor stability in recovery rates, resulting in severe resource waste and persistently high operating costs. Consequently, achieving efficient, stable, and cost-effective mineral processing under such complex ore conditions has become the core technical challenge that urgently needs to be addressed.
To thoroughly resolve this issue, the YaKai technical team conducted an in-depth field survey of the mining area, performing specialized analyses tailored to the characteristics of ores with high clay content and abundant gravel. Ultimately, they customized a large-scale, integrated mineral processing solution for the client. At the heart of the project is a massive beneficiation vessel with a processing capacity of 1,400 cubic meters. This vessel incorporates multiple core technologies, integrating trommel screening, hydraulic washing, and gravity separation systems into a unified design, thereby forming a complete process flow—from raw material feeding and desliming screening, through washing, to gravity concentration and recovery.
During operation, the ore first undergoes graded treatment via a high-efficiency trommel screen, effectively separating coarse gravel from fine-grained minerals. It then enters a specially designed hydraulic washing unit, where powerful water jets and mechanical agitation thoroughly break up agglomerated ore masses and completely remove clay coatings adhering to gold particles, thus resolving the long-standing technical challenge of “gold particle encapsulation.” Finally, an optimized gravity separation system precisely sorts minerals based on differences in specific gravity, ensuring highly efficient gold recovery. The entire system boasts a high degree of automation, smooth operation, and seamless integration among all stages, realizing truly “efficient, intelligent, and continuous” processing.
Project Implementation Timeline
The project maintained rigorous quality and schedule control throughout its entire lifecycle, from conceptual design and equipment manufacturing to on-site installation and commissioning. Leveraging a mature technological framework and highly efficient engineering execution capabilities, the equipment was successfully delivered and put into operation. Since formal commissioning, the system has operated stably and reliably, with all performance indicators meeting design specifications and successfully enduring prolonged testing under challenging on-site conditions.
Application Outcomes and Benefit Analysis
The deployment of YaKai’s custom-designed beneficiation vessel has brought revolutionary improvements to the client’s production, fully achieving the project’s intended objectives:
1. A qualitative leap in processing capacity: The equipment consistently processes 3,000–3,500 tons of ore per day, far exceeding the client’s initial expectations and significantly boosting the mine’s overall extraction scale and operational efficiency.
2. Substantial optimization of recovery metrics: The overall recovery rate has increased to over 92%, with stable concentrate grades, minimizing metal losses and bringing resource utilization to industry-leading levels.
3. Significant reduction in operating costs: Through systematic design optimization, unit energy consumption has been reduced by approximately 18%, enabling expanded production while effectively controlling energy use and directly lowering per-unit production costs.
4. Drastically shortened investment payback period: Thanks to efficient output and excellent cost control, the project’s investment payback period has been shortened to just 8–10 months, achieving rapid capital recovery and profitability, thereby highlighting its strong investment value.
