Project Background and Project Overview
This project is located in a key port area of Malaysia, with the client being a well-known local port operating company. As a crucial hub for regional logistics and international trade, this port handles a large volume of cargo loading and unloading operations, with frequent arrivals and departures of large cargo vessels throughout the year. To ensure normal port operations and navigational safety, maintaining a stable and sufficient design water depth in the navigation channels is a top priority in routine maintenance work. However, due to natural factors such as ocean tides, currents, and sediment deposition, the navigation channels and harbor basin are prone to siltation, resulting in insufficient water depth. This not only limits the tonnage capacity of large vessels but also severely affects the port's turnover efficiency and navigational safety.
The construction environment of this project presents significant challenges: the working area is situated in an open nearshore waters, heavily influenced by monsoons, waves, and ocean currents, with complex and variable weather conditions. This places extremely high demands on construction equipment, requiring not only powerful excavation and transport capabilities but also excellent hull structural strength, resistance to wind and waves, and high-precision positioning abilities to ensure safe, stable, and accurate operations even under challenging sea conditions.
To fully meet customer requirements, Yakei has custom-designed a large dredger with a flow rate of 4,000 cubic meters per hour. This equipment adheres to stringent standards and rigorous requirements throughout its design and manufacturing phases, boasting several outstanding core advantages:
Firstly, in terms of hull performance, the vessel features a robust overall structure with exceptional resistance to wind and waves, capable of adapting to the complex hydrological and meteorological conditions of nearshore waters, ensuring continuous and safe construction operations. Secondly, the equipment is equipped with an advanced high-precision positioning system that can monitor vessel position and excavation depth in real-time, achieving millimeter-level construction accuracy and ensuring that dredging operations strictly follow the designed cross-section, avoiding over-excavation or under-excavation.
In terms of functional configuration, this dredger boasts strong excavation capabilities, with a maximum excavation depth of up to 14 meters, fully meeting the stringent water depth requirements of large container ships and bulk carriers. At the same time, its powerful pumping and suction system ensures long-distance transportation of highly concentrated slurry, with a monthly dredging output consistently exceeding 200,000 cubic meters, demonstrating exceptionally high production efficiency. Importantly, the entire vessel and its critical components have all passed certification by the China Classification Society (CCS), fully complying with international maritime safety standards, reaching world-class levels in equipment reliability, safety, and compliance. Furthermore, through optimized designs of the power and propulsion systems, this equipment achieves remarkable energy-saving performance, successfully controlling fuel consumption to within 0.8 yuan per cubic meter, significantly reducing unit construction costs while maintaining high-power output.
Project Implementation Period
With the equipment's powerful construction capabilities and stable operational performance, the project team conducted scientific planning and efficient execution, ensuring that the entire dredging project progressed smoothly according to schedule and completed all channel maintenance and deepening tasks on time and with guaranteed quality, thereby ensuring unimpeded port shipping operations.
Application Results and Benefit Analysis
The deployment of Yakei's large dredger has successfully helped the client achieve their core engineering objectives, bringing significant economic benefits and operational improvements:
1. Navigational Conditions Fully Meet Standards: After completion of construction, the navigation channel water depth precisely reached the design standard of 10.5 meters, completely eliminating navigational restrictions caused by insufficient water depth and satisfying the safe entry and exit needs of large vessels.
2. Port Operational Efficiency Doubled: The improvement in channel conditions has increased the port's overall navigational capacity by 30%, significantly accelerating vessel turnaround speeds, shortening average berthing and operation times per voyage by approximately 2 hours, and greatly enhancing the port's overall competitiveness and cargo throughput efficiency.
3. Outstanding Production Capacity and Cost Control: With a monthly dredging output exceeding 200,000 cubic meters, the equipment ensures timely and effective channel maintenance; meanwhile, its excellent fuel economy keeps direct operating costs at an extremely low level, creating considerable long-term economic benefits for the client.
4. Guaranteed Safety and Reliability: The quality assurance provided by CCS certification, combined with the equipment's stable performance under harsh sea conditions, has established a solid safety barrier for project construction, perfectly balancing efficient production with safe operations.
Customer Satisfaction Description
The successful completion of the project and the equipment's outstanding performance have earned high praise and full trust from the client. The client stated that Yakei's dredger perfectly adapts to Malaysia's local marine operating environment, excelling beyond expectations in wind resistance stability, excavation precision, and production efficiency. Particularly in significantly improving navigational capacity, shortening vessel berthing times, and controlling operating costs, the equipment has performed exceptionally well, providing strong support for the port's efficient operations. The client gave extremely high marks to Yakei's product quality and professional services, expressing anticipation for continued in-depth cooperation in the future.
