EU Environmental Benchmark | YaKai’s environmental dredging vessel supports ecological dredging and water environment restoration in Poland’s lake district.

Project Background and Overview

This project is located in the picturesque Polish Lake District of Europe and represents a key water environment management and ecological restoration initiative for the region. As an important natural ecological reserve and tourism resource, the area not only boasts crystal-clear waters and a fragile ecosystem but also adheres to some of the world’s strictest environmental protection standards. The core task of the project is to comprehensively remove the accumulated bottom sediments in the lake area, thereby restoring water capacity, improving water quality, and enhancing flood control capabilities. However, unlike traditional dredging projects, the greatest challenge this project faces lies in how to efficiently remove sediment while minimizing disturbance to the water body during construction, preventing the spread of pollutants from the sediment, and avoiding secondary damage to the existing ecological environment.

During the project’s initial phase, the client exercised extreme caution in selecting equipment, requiring that all machinery possess the characteristics of “high precision, low disturbance, fully sealed, and zero pollution,” with emission levels strictly compliant with current EU regulations. Traditional dredging equipment, due to inherent technical limitations, often generates extensive turbid zones during operation, leading to severe suspended solids dispersion—conditions that fail to meet such stringent environmental requirements.

To overcome this technical hurdle, YaKai leveraged its deep technical expertise and profound understanding of environmental principles to custom-design a specialized eco-friendly sludge pump vessel with a flow rate of 1400 cubic meters per hour. This equipment embodies the highest industry standards in both design philosophy and technical configuration:

First, the vessel features an advanced environmentally friendly low-disturbance dredging head capable of precisely and gently cutting and suctioning underwater sediments, effectively controlling the scope and depth of excavation to minimize disturbance at the source. Second, the entire system is equipped with a comprehensive sealed conveying pipeline, maintaining complete containment from the suction inlet to the discharge outlet, ensuring no leakage or dispersion of slurry during transport and completely preventing the spread of suspended solids within the work area—truly achieving “clean operations.”

In terms of processing technology, the vessel integrates highly efficient solid–liquid separation and dewatering functions. During operation, it rapidly concentrates the extracted slurry, consistently maintaining a concentration of 30%–40% per hour, significantly boosting the efficiency of material transportation. After treatment, the sludge’s moisture content can be reduced to below 40%, forming a solid or semi-solid state that not only greatly reduces volume but also facilitates subsequent transportation, storage, and resource recovery, fully meeting modern environmental engineering standards. Furthermore, the equipment has undergone comprehensive optimization of its power system, with engine emissions and operational noise rigorously complying with EU Stage V standards, enabling truly green and quiet construction.

Project Implementation Timeline

Throughout the project, the equipment operated stably and reliably, delivering outstanding performance across all key metrics. Thanks to its high processing efficiency and scientifically planned construction schedule, the project team successfully completed approximately 250,000 cubic meters of dredging work. The entire project concluded smoothly according to plan and passed inspection by relevant authorities on schedule.

Application Outcomes and Benefit Analysis

The successful deployment of YaKai’s eco-friendly sludge pump vessel perfectly achieved the client’s dual objectives of “efficient dredging” and “ecological protection,” harmonizing economic and environmental benefits:

1. Outstanding Environmental Performance: The water in the construction area remained clear throughout, with suspended solids dispersion fundamentally controlled, minimizing impacts on aquatic life and the surrounding ecosystem. The project smoothly passed rigorous EU environmental inspections and earned high official recognition.

2. Superior Processing Efficiency and Quality: The application of high-concentration conveying and low-moisture dewatering technologies dramatically increased effective processing capacity per unit time, significantly reducing subsequent sludge treatment costs.

3. Comprehensive Cost Optimization: Through technological integration and efficiency gains, overall construction costs were reduced by approximately 22% compared to conventional approaches, achieving cost-effectiveness without compromising high standards.

4. Regulatory Compliance Assurance: The equipment fully complies with EU Stage V emission standards, featuring low noise and clean emissions, satisfying current project needs while setting a technological benchmark for the client’s future similar projects in the European market.

Customer Satisfaction Report

The successful completion of the project earned high praise from both the client and local environmental authorities. The client remarked that YaKai’s sludge pump vessel had completely reshaped their traditional perception of dredging as “highly polluting and disruptive.” The equipment demonstrated world-class performance in environmental protection, operational accuracy, and stability. Particularly under stringent environmental standards, it continued to operate efficiently, producing clear effluent and delivering excellent sludge treatment results—laying a decisive foundation for the project’s success. This collaboration fully validated YaKai’s technological prowess and quality assurance, leaving the client highly satisfied and eager to continue working together on more European environmental projects in the future.
